The Smithsonian’s Arts + Industries Building launched the FUTURES exhibition,
a guide to a vast array of interactives, artworks, technologies, and ideas that are glimpses into humanity’s next chapter.
Between dystopian fiction, 24hr news cycles, and environmental and financial crises, that future has become a darker topic now than any other time in living memory.
"To care for a future, one must first see themselves in it."
That's why we created Your Future Guide, a digital experience in which people could meet their future selves in a tour of the year 2050.
By aging users' faces, cloning their voices, and learning about their personalities, Your Future Guide creates a digital version of each user and portrays them in the year 2050.
Their future guide takes them on a digital tour through FUTURES and shows them all the inventions and ideas waiting for us in the future. And last but not least, it makes them commit to an action today that will help them reach that positive future.
